Pool Office Manager bills per active user. Jobber bills per seat. Those are both headcount meters, but the published formulas are not the same, so this page does not name a cheaper product or a winner. Figures are from vendor pages checked 2026-09-13. We have not tested either app.
Two products
Verified fact: POM markets pool service and repair software. Pricing bills per active user. The first user is $125/mo. Each additional user is $25/mo. QuickBooks Online is a +$25/mo add-on.
Verified fact: Jobber is general field-service software. It publishes a pool service software industry page. That page is marketing for a general FSM, not a pool-native spec. Jobber bills per seat.
A POM user is closer to a Jobber seat than to a Skimmer location. You still cannot subtract a Core dollar from a POM dollar and get a breakeven. POM publishes a $125 + $25 formula. Jobber publishes 1-user plan cards, then 5, 10, and 15-user cards. Jobber does not publish a +$25 extra-user add-on.
See each Pool Office Manager and Jobber profile for documented functions, still without a field test. Third-party operator snippets already on those profiles are not new quotes and not a PoolProStack test.
How you pay
Verified fact: Public POM pricing, 2026-09-13. Worked examples use the published seat formula. They omit unpublished fleet quotes and unpublished card fees. The fetched HTML prints the published examples 2 users = $150/month and 4 users = $200/month.
| Active users | Published math | Software only | With QBO (+$25) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | First user | $125 | $150 |
| 2 | $125 + $25 | $150 | $175 |
| 3 | $125 + $25 × 2 | $175 | $200 |
| 4 | $125 + $25 × 3 | $200 | $225 |
| 5 | $125 + $25 × 4 | $225 | $250 |
Pricing is month-to-month. The same page says seasonal companies can deactivate users in the off-season. It claims unlimited customers, jobs, and pictures. 12+ users are unpublished on that page. It says contact them for a fleet rate. This page does not invent a fleet number.
Verified fact: The POM pricing meta description, fetched 2026-09-13, states a free 30-day trial with no card and no contracts. The home FAQ repeats no contracts or termination fees and a 30-day free trial. The pricing body advertises a free trial without restating the day count.
Verified fact: Jobber bills per seat. Live Jobber pricing for 1 user, 2026-09-13:
| Plan (1 user) | No commitment | 1-year monthly | Billed annually |
|---|---|---|---|
| Core | $49 | $39 | $29 |
| Connect | $139 | $119 | $99 |
| Grow | $199 | $169 | $149 |
The same pricing page also lists 5, 10, and 15-user prices on Connect, Grow, and Plus. This page quotes the 1-user row unless a same-shop cell names a published multi-user card. A $25-per-additional-user add-on is not published on the fetched Jobber HTML.
Verified fact: Jobber’s trial is 14 days on Grow, no credit card (pricing FAQ). Grow is the trial plan. It is not the 1-user Core floor.
Seat versus seat
These cells apply published formulas to the same headcount. POM “active users” and Jobber “users” are different published cards. Optional add-ons and card fees are excluded except the named POM QBO add-on.
| Shop | POM published | Jobber published (1-user cards) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 person | $125 software. $150 with QBO. | Core $49 / $39 / $29. Connect $139 / $119 / $99. Grow $199 / $169 / $149. Trial is Grow. |
| 2 people | $150 software. $175 with QBO. Published example. | No 2-user card. Extra seats appear as 5 / 10 / 15-user cards, not a +$25 add-on. |
| 4 people | $200 software. $225 with QBO. Published example. | No 4-user card on the fetched page. Do not invent one. |
Editorial judgment: Read the cells as unit arithmetic, not a ranking. At one person, POM publishes $125 ($150 with QBO) and Jobber publishes Core, Connect, and Grow. At two or four people, POM publishes the $125 + $25 formula and Jobber does not publish those headcounts as checkout cards. QBO also sits on different gates. Confirm the written total at your real user count.
Units side by side
| Pool Office Manager | Jobber | |
|---|---|---|
| Billable unit | Active user. Seat meter. | Seat / user |
| What counts as one unit | One person using the software | One user on the published plan cards |
| Published 1-unit rate | $125/mo first user. $25/mo each additional. QBO +$25/mo | Core $49 / $39 / $29. Connect $139 / $119 / $99. Grow $199 / $169 / $149 |
| What moves the bill | Each additional active user, plus the QBO add-on | Each additional published seat card, or a custom quote |
| What does not move the bill | Location count | Customer count; extra stops at one account |
| Office / admin seats | Count as users on the published formula | Count as users on the seat meter |
| First-month offer | Meta and home: 30-day free trial, no card, no contracts | 14-day Grow trial, no credit card |
| Feature gate on price | QBO is +$25/mo. Chemistry and inventory sit on the same public platform copy | QBO listed on Connect, not Core. Chemistry tools are not claimed on the pool page |
| Processor / payment fee | Stripe named on pricing. Processor percentage unpublished | Cards 2.9% + 30¢. Tap to Pay 2.7% + 30¢. ACH 1% |
| SMS | Texts claimed. Unit price unpublished | Two-way SMS listed on Grow in the fetched feature list |
| Fleet / volume quote | 12+ unpublished | Franchise / custom row. Extra seats are team-size cards |
| Activation | Unpublished on the fetched 2026-09-13 pricing HTML. Status is a GAP. This page does not print a dollar amount. | Not a published line on the fetched pricing FAQ |
Do not read those rows as a ranking. A 1-user POM shop is not a Jobber Core shop.
Chemistry, inventory, and offline
These are published claims, not a field test.
Verified fact: POM’s chemical calculator claims instant dosage from entered readings and a Before/After LSI calculator. The fetched page does not name Orenda or LaMotte.
Verified fact: POM home and features claim inventory: chemicals and parts by tech, truck, warehouse, or customer, with barcode scanning on features. Pricing repeats inventory and chemical intelligence.
Verified fact: POM pricing says mobile apps work without internet. Features claim offline-first field tools. We have not confirmed every workflow (photos, invoices, signatures) while offline.
Verified fact: Jobber’s pool page documents field notes for chemicals and pool dimensions. It does not claim LSI, Orenda, or LaMotte. Connect lists job-documentation checklists on the pricing matrix. Checklists are field notes, not an LSI calculator.
Verified fact: Jobber’s pool page does not claim offline. Offline is not claimed.
Verified fact: Jobber’s pool page mentions inventory in a QuickBooks Online sentence. That page does not claim a native truck or warehouse inventory module.
Editorial judgment: If daily work is an LSI calculator, claimed inventory, and offline field tools, POM publishes those claims and Jobber does not. If daily work is quotes, a client hub, and mixed trades, Jobber’s published surface is the general FSM. Confirm chemistry, inventory, and offline steps in a trial.
Accounting and payments
Verified fact: POM features claim QuickBooks two-way sync. Pricing lists QuickBooks Integration at +$25/mo and says the product works with QuickBooks Desktop. The home FAQ states Desktop is one-way POM to Desktop, batch. Object lists stay on the QuickBooks guide.
Verified fact: The live Jobber pricing feature matrix lists QuickBooks Online sync on Connect, not Core. Jobber help articles were Cloudflare-blocked on 2026-09-13, so this page does not lock a Desktop sentence or a sync-direction sentence from those FAQs tonight. Stick to the public matrix.
Verified fact: Card processing on Jobber pricing: cards 2.9% + 30¢, Tap to Pay 2.7% + 30¢, ACH 1%, instant payouts an extra 1%.
Verified fact: POM pricing names Stripe. A processor percentage is not published on the fetched pricing or features pages. Ignore inventing one.
Unverified: POM SMS unit price is unpublished on the fetched pricing and features pages. Features claim text quotes and texts to customers. Ignore inventing a per-message rate.
Editorial judgment: Same accounting product name, different gates. POM publishes a two-way QBO add-on at +$25/mo and a Desktop path. Jobber’s public-matrix gate is Connect (and up). Jobber publishes card percentages. POM does not. Confirm objects, direction, and fees in a trial.
Who each product is for
These are fit notes against published units and documented claims. They are not awards.
Pool Office Manager is for a pool-only shop that can live with a per-user bill, wants claimed inventory, an LSI calculator, offline field tools, and a named two-way QBO fee, and can accept unpublished card fees, unpublished SMS rates, and an unpublished activation line.
Pool Office Manager is not for a shop that needs published Orenda or LaMotte, a published processor percentage tonight, or a mixed-trade general FSM at Core money. The first user is $125/mo before QBO.
Jobber is for a shop that sells pool work as one line among other home-service trades, wants client-hub booking, and can pay by seat. Core is the 1-user floor. Connect is the plan that lists QBO on the public matrix. Card rates are on the pricing page.
Jobber is not for a pool-only route that needs a claimed LSI/Orenda/LaMotte workflow, documented offline field use, or a native inventory module like POM. Those are not claimed on Jobber’s pool page.
Per-user versus location: Pool Office Manager vs Skimmer. Per-user versus technician: Pool Office Manager vs Pool Brain. Per-user versus base-plus-tech: Pool Office Manager vs Paythepoolman. Per-user versus technician-and-customer-cap: Pool Office Manager vs Poolside. Seat versus location: Jobber vs Skimmer. Seat versus technician: Jobber vs Pool Brain. Solo-operator notes, chemistry claims, and QBO object lists stay on the solo-operator guide, chemical tracking guide, and QuickBooks guide.
Questions for sales or a trial
- POM: at my active-user count, is the monthly total still $125 + $25 × extra users, and is QBO still +$25?
- POM: is any activation charge in writing for my account, or is that line still unpublished?
- POM: which offline workflows (photos, invoices, signatures) work without cell service?
- POM: what objects move in the QBO two-way sync, and is Desktop still one-way POM to Desktop, batch?
- POM: what is the Stripe processor percentage, the SMS unit price, and the 12+ fleet rate?
- Jobber: at my real user count, which published card am I on, and is month two still the no-commit / 1-year / annual row above?
- Jobber: does QBO stay on Connect for my account, and what objects move? Is Desktop in writing?
- Jobber: is there an LSI, Orenda, or LaMotte workflow in writing, or only field notes?
- Both: what is included in that total (texts, payments, GPS), and what happens to my data if I cancel?
What we are not claiming
This page does not rank a winner. We have not tested either app. We are not treating a POM user as a Jobber Core seat. We are not inventing a Jobber +$25 extra-user add-on. We are not inventing 2-user or 4-user Jobber checkout totals. We are not inventing a fleet rate for 12+ POM users. We are not inventing a processor percentage for POM. We are not inventing a POM SMS unit price. We are not printing an activation-fee dollar amount; that line was unpublished on the fetched 2026-09-13 pricing HTML. We are not inventing Orenda or LaMotte for POM. We are not inventing LSI, Orenda, LaMotte, or offline for Jobber. We are not locking a Jobber Desktop sentence from help pages we could not open on 2026-09-13. We do not earn commissions from these vendors.
Ask for written totals at your user count. Then trial the chemistry step, the offline stop, and the QuickBooks objects on the same week of invoices. Buying notes: Pool Office Manager, Jobber, QuickBooks guide, chemical tracking guide. Other meters: Pool Office Manager vs Skimmer, Jobber vs Skimmer, Jobber vs Pool Brain.
