Vendor review
Paythepoolman
Lower-priced pool software for billing, routing, and customer messages, aimed at small shops.
Paythepoolman is pool route software started in 2013 (PoolDial). The product centers on invoices, routes, GPS, and customer messages. The company describes itself as privately owned, with pricing aimed at smaller shops.
Pricing
Verified fact: The Paythepoolman calculator (2026-09-15) shows:
| Line | Price |
|---|---|
| Base | $50/mo |
| Per technician | $15/mo |
| 1 technician total | $65/mo |
| Pool Junction customer app | $25/mo optional |
| Convenience fee on payments | $1.50/transaction (vendor site) |
| Payroll | $12/employee/mo on features/payroll. Homepage addon still Custom Pricing. Signup fee unpublished. |
| Processor percentage | Unpublished |
Worked examples: 1 technician = $65; 3 = $95; 5 = $125. A 30-day trial is advertised.
Features and gaps
The features page lists batch billing, GPS routes, contactless bids, invoice texts, Orenda (free with Plus), and LaMotte SpinTouch. Plus dollars are unpublished. The homepage comparison marks QuickBooks Integrations present; the same homepage says goodbye to QuickBooks. The 2026-09-15 features hub does not list a dedicated QuickBooks card. We do not publish a confirmed sync. Offline mobile use is not claimed on the fetched pages.
Autopilot’s comparison notes there is no AI receptionist or marketing suite. That is a scope limit, not a hidden defect.
If confirmed two-way QBO is a must, trial POM or Pool Brain instead (and still verify). If cash software cost is the constraint, start here and get a current quote. See the QuickBooks guide. Seat versus headcount: Jobber vs Paythepoolman. Headcount versus location: Paythepoolman vs Skimmer. Base-plus-tech versus active-field-tech: Paythepoolman vs Pool Brain. Technician-and-customer-cap versus headcount: Poolside vs Paythepoolman. Per-user versus base-plus-tech: Pool Office Manager vs Paythepoolman. No hands-on test.

Verdict
Editorial judgmentPaythepoolman is the first quote to run if Skimmer or Pool Brain looks expensive at your current size. Confirm the per-tech fee on the vendor calculator. Do not treat QuickBooks as a confirmed sync; the homepage contradicts itself.
Operator feedback (aggregated)
Third-party operator commentThird-party summaries from public review sites, app stores, trade press, or vendor trust pages. These are not PoolProStack hands-on reviews, and they are not anonymous star ratings we invented. Each item links to the source and shows when it was published and when we retrieved it.
Public operator-review volume is thin. No G2, Capterra, Software Finder, or GetApp listing could be opened in this retrieval. A Reddit index search for r/PoolPros threads returned no usable hits. Apple's App Store listing showed 4.7/5 from 20 ratings, with the last listed app version dated 2021-07-29. Google Play's Paythepoolman Plus listing showed 31 reviews when opened 2026-09-04 and was last updated July 15, 2026; this retrieval did not show a star average on that page. Homepage blurbs below are vendor-selected, not independent reviews. Do not invent a Capterra score to fill the gap.

The vendor homepage publishes unnamed customer blurbs that praise price versus a competitor, time saved on night billing, and support. Those quotes are selected by Paythepoolman. We could not match them to a dated G2, Capterra, or Reddit thread.

Apple's App Store listing showed 4.7/5 from 20 ratings when opened 2026-09-04. The latest listed version (1.0.10) is dated July 29, 2021. That is a small, old sample, not a current field test.

Autopilot's July 2026 competitor page (not an operator review) says Paythepoolman is built around billing, routing, and payroll, and does not advertise an AI receptionist, online booking, or marketing campaigns. Confirm those gaps on the vendor site.

Visible Google Play reviews said recent app and desktop updates made logging service harder, that inputs often did not register until the reviewer restarted and synced several times, and that the app clocked techs out after clock-in and sent dozens of speed-limit alerts. One of those reviews was edited through December 9, 2025.
