A shopping list or a chemical reading log is not a warehouse stock ledger. This page records what six vendor help and marketing pages published about inventory, parts, chemicals stock, truck stock, warehouse or multi-location quantities, auto-decrement on job use, reorder visibility, and billable materials on invoices as of 2026-09-27. No ranked winner. We have not tested these apps.

> **Scout brief (2026-09-27):** Primary pages only. POM publishes a dedicated inventory page: multi-location warehouse and truck stock, barcode scan, auto-deduct when the tech closes the job, low-stock reorder visibility, billable parts and materials on invoices, QBO item sync. Pool Brain help publishes inventory locations and trucks, parts confirm-and-deduct on one-time jobs, and a June 27 2026 update for chemical auto-deduct from truck stock on route stops. Marketing features emphasize chem use and cost more than a warehouse module. Skimmer publishes Shopping List (parts/chemicals for general stock or a customer, mark purchased or on the truck) plus Heritage stock check at order time. That is not published quantity-on-hand auto-decrement. Paythepoolman publishes a shopping list with statuses requested, purchased, loaded, installed, and truck grab reminders. Warehouse quantity ledgers and auto-decrement are GAP. Poolside home, features, and pricing fetches: GAP for inventory stock. Chemical readings stay on the chemistry guide. Jobber publishes Products and Services for quotes, jobs, and invoices. Native truck or warehouse quantity tracking is GAP. Help: QBO inventory items can decrement quantity on hand when an invoice syncs. A product update describes Ply as a marketplace inventory add-on. No winner.

## What inventory claims mean here

> **Verified fact:** Help pages beat marketing copy when they conflict. "GAP" or "not claimed" means the cited page does not make the claim. It is not proof the feature is absent. Chemical *readings*, LSI, and dosing math stay on the [chemical tracking guide](/guides/pool-service-software-with-chemical-tracking). This page is about stock, materials, and parts quantity workflows.

**Truck stock.** Published quantities or stock assigned to a technician vehicle, not only a reminder that something is "on the truck."

**Warehouse or multi-location stock.** Published locations beyond a single truck (warehouse, storage, sub-locations) with quantity visibility.

**Auto-decrement on job use.** Published deduction from stock when chemicals or parts are used and the stop or job is closed. A shopping-list checkbox is not that.

**Reorder alerts or low-stock visibility.** Published low-stock, reorder, or predictive ordering language. A blank shopping list is not a reorder alert.

**Billable parts or materials on the invoice.** Published path from used parts or materials onto the customer invoice, or language that stock use ties to billing. Confirm whether inventory count and invoice lines stay linked or diverge.

**Plan gate.** Which paid plan those claims sit on. Unpublished gates stay GAP.

**Published pricing floor.** A list price on a cited pricing or home page. A promo, a custom plan, Request pricing, or a per-tech component is not a full monthly floor.

Units stay on the [solo-operator guide](/guides/best-pool-service-software-solo-operators), the [small-team guide](/guides/best-pool-service-software-for-small-team), and the [pricing guide](/guides/pool-service-software-pricing-compared). Category cards: [/best/inventory](/best/inventory).

> **Editorial judgment:** Buy the stock workflow you will actually run. A "shopping list" and a multi-location quantity ledger are different products. Ask which pages name truck stock, warehouse locations, auto-decrement, reorder rules, and invoice lines on your plan.

## Published claims (2026-09-27)

## Product notes

**POM.** The [inventory page](https://poolofficemanager.com/pool-service-inventory-software) publishes multi-location tracking across a main warehouse and a technician service truck, item details with stock levels and costs, barcode scan in and out of locations and jobs, predictive ordering from usage history, cost reporting, and QBO two-way item sync for price and details. Step-by-step: tech records chemicals and materials used, closes the job, and the system deducts from the assigned truck. FAQ: inventory in each car; final automatic deduction after the service report closes; low-stock visibility for reorder. [Features](https://poolofficemanager.com/features) repeats Inventory Control, track by warehouse or vehicle, barcode scanning, inventory deduction tied to job completion, and parts and chemical usage recording on the mobile app. [Pricing](https://poolofficemanager.com/pricing): complete suite, no per-feature add-ons; Inventory and Chemical Intelligence on the page; floor $125 first user, $25 each additional, QuickBooks +$25/mo.

**Pool Brain.** [Help: locations](https://help.poolbrain.com/en/articles/11668224-create-and-edit-inventory-locations) and [add items to locations and trucks](https://help.poolbrain.com/en/articles/11668225-add-inventory-items-to-locations-trucks) publish quantity on hand, cost, stock items, and warehouse-style locations with sub-locations. [Automatic inventory deduction](https://help.poolbrain.com/en/articles/11668243-automatic-inventory-deduction) (dated July 19, 2025 on the page): on one-time job completion, Confirm Parts Used updates truck inventory if a matching item exists. Changes on that screen affect inventory only, not Products on the job or the invoice. The same article's older note that route-stop chemical inventory was not yet supported is superseded for chemicals by the [June 27 2026 update](https://help.poolbrain.com/en/articles/15680271-june-27-2026-new-update-released): chemicals auto-deduct from truck inventory on route stops in real time when products exist on the truck. [Pen and paper vs Pool Brain](https://poolcompanysoftware.poolbrain.com/pen-and-paper-vs-pool-brain) lists inventory locations, unit management, chemical and parts auto-deduct, and receive purchases into inventory. [Features](https://www.poolbrain.com/features/) stresses chem use, cost, and dosing more than a warehouse module. [Pricing](https://www.poolbrain.com/pricing/): all features included, **$65 per active field technician**. The full monthly total is a GAP. Do not write $65 × 1 as a solo plan price.

**Skimmer.** The [inventory QnA](https://www.getskimmer.com/why-skimmer/qna-hub/how-do-pool-companies-manage-inventory-chemicals-and-recurring-service-checklists) says supply tracking runs through shopping lists tied to customers and jobs, with mark purchased or already on the truck, so items are not missed on the invoice. [Technicians](https://www.getskimmer.com/product/technicians) Shopping List: add products, parts, or chemicals from web or mobile; associate to customers; mark purchased; indicate on the truck. [Help](https://help.getskimmer.com/article/78-add-or-delete-a-shopping-list-item-web) (updated 2026-08-20): general stock or customer-tied items; tiers All. Heritage integration on the same technicians page checks stock availability at order time. That is supplier stock at order time, not a published in-house quantity ledger with auto-decrement. Chemical dosage reports are spend by tech or customer, not warehouse counts. [Pricing](https://www.getskimmer.com/pricing): Shopping List and Heritage on Getting Started. Floors: Getting Started $1.00 per serviced location, starts at $49/month with 49 included; Scaling Up $2.00, starts at $98 with 49 included.

**Paythepoolman.** [Features](https://www.paythepoolman.com/features/) Shopping list: status requested, purchased, loaded, installed; photo so the right part is bought; remind techs what to grab from the truck; see what every tech needs for today's jobs. Equipment log helps avoid the wrong part. Fleet management is vehicle condition, not parts quantity. Warehouse quantity-on-hand, auto-decrement, and reorder alerts are **not claimed** on the fetched features or [home](https://www.paythepoolman.com/) pages. Floor on home: $50/month + $15 per technician ($65 at one tech).

**Poolside.** Fetched [home](https://trypoolside.com/), [features](https://trypoolside.com/features), and [pricing](https://trypoolside.com/pricing) publish chemical readings, quotes, routes, and billing. Inventory stock, truck quantity ledgers, warehouse locations, auto-decrement, and reorder alerts are **not claimed** on those 2026-09-27 fetches. Do not treat chemical readings as inventory tracking. List floors: Starter $29.99, Growth $59.99, Pro $99.99. Enterprise is Custom on the pricing page. Phrase that as Request pricing.

**Jobber.** [Pool service](https://www.getjobber.com/industries/pool-service-software) and [pricing](https://www.getjobber.com/pricing/) publish products and services on quotes, jobs, and invoices, plus expense and materials tracking and job costing on higher plans. Native truck or warehouse quantity-on-hand tracking is GAP on the cited pages. [QBO items help](https://help.getjobber.com/en/articles/how-items-sync-between-jobber-and-quickbooks-online/) (updated 2026-04-08): inventory items created in QuickBooks sync as products; when a product used on an invoice syncs to QuickBooks, quantity on hand deducts in QuickBooks. QuickBooks is the source of truth for that sync. QBO integration is on select plans. A [product update](https://productupdates.getjobber.com/79867-simplify-inventory-tracking-with-instant-access-to-materials-in-jobber-with-ply) describes Ply as inventory software that surfaces pricing and stock in Jobber on Core, Connect, and Grow. That is a marketplace add-on, not a native Jobber warehouse module. Core 1-user floors on pricing: $49 no-commit, $39 on a 1-year commitment, $29 billed annually.

## Fit notes (not a ranking)

These are operating-model notes against the table. Seed profiles are linked.

**Need a published multi-location quantity ledger (warehouse + trucks).** POM and Pool Brain publish that. Skimmer, Paythepoolman, Poolside, and Jobber do not on the cited native pages.

**Need published auto-decrement when the stop or job closes.** POM publishes deduct on job close. Pool Brain publishes parts confirm on one-time jobs and chemical auto-deduct on route stops (June 2026 update). Jobber's published decrement path runs through QuickBooks inventory on invoice sync. Skimmer and Paythepoolman shopping lists are status workflows. Poolside: GAP.

**Need a pick list / shopping list more than a stock ledger.** Skimmer and Paythepoolman publish that clearly. POM and Pool Brain publish fuller inventory modules. Jobber products and services cover billable line items. Poolside: GAP.

**Need billable parts tied to the invoice without guessing.** POM ties billable materials to invoices. Skimmer QnA and invoice generator language cover installed items and dosed chemicals. Pool Brain: confirm whether Confirm Parts Used and invoice products stay aligned. Jobber: products on invoices. Paythepoolman: extras on Run Billing. Poolside: GAP for inventory stock.

**Need chemistry readings and LSI, not stock.** That stays on the [chemical tracking guide](/guides/pool-service-software-with-chemical-tracking).

## Questions before you sign

1. On my plan, which of the seven claims are in writing: truck stock, warehouse or multi-location, auto-decrement, reorder or low-stock, billable parts on invoice, plan gate, pricing floor?
2. When a tech uses chlorine tabs or a pump part, does quantity on hand drop automatically, only after a confirm screen, or only when someone edits a shopping list?
3. For Pool Brain: does Confirm Parts Used change the invoice, or only inventory count, and is chemical route-stop auto-deduct live on my account after the June 2026 update?
4. For POM: which locations (warehouse, trucks, other) and barcode workflows are on my account, and does QBO item sync include the prices I sell?
5. For Skimmer: is Shopping List enough, or do I need quantity-on-hand by truck that the cited pages do not publish?
6. For Paythepoolman: where is warehouse quantity or auto-decrement in writing, if it exists beyond requested to installed statuses?
7. For Poolside: where is inventory stock in writing, if it exists?
8. For Jobber: is stock quantity living in Jobber, in QuickBooks, or in a marketplace add-on such as Ply on my plan?
9. For every product: what is the written monthly total, and for Pool Brain what is published besides $65 per active field tech?

## What we are not claiming

We have not counted stock in a warehouse or on a truck. We are not naming a winner. We are not treating a missing claim as proof a feature is absent. We are not treating chemical readings, LSI, or dosing math as inventory stock. We are not treating a shopping list or "on the truck" checkbox as a quantity ledger with auto-decrement. We are not inventing Poolside inventory. We are not inventing a Pool Brain $65 solo plan or a full monthly floor from $65 × 1. We are not collapsing Pool Brain's Confirm Parts Used inventory screen into an automatic invoice change. We are not treating Jobber's QBO quantity deduction or the Ply product update as a native Jobber warehouse module. We are not treating Paythepoolman fleet checklists as parts inventory. We are not labeling Poolside Enterprise as needing a private quote label. Use Request pricing.

Ask for the seven claims in writing on your plan, then walk one part and one chemical from truck stock to invoice if the vendor publishes both.
